Minimum Requirements:
Win 95/98/2000/XP or Vista
800 x 600 resolution or better
Cable or DSL internet connection

NOTE: If you have the old version of Desktop Comic, be sure to uninstall it before installing the new version (see below.)

How to Install:
Download the file by clicking on the "Download" button at the top of this page.
Save the file to your desktop (recommended) or run the install program directly.
If you run the install program directly, just follow the instructions as they appear.
If you save the file to your desktop, close all browser windows and double-click the file. Follow the instructions.
Reboot your computer or click the "Start" button & find "Garfield Desktop Comic" in the "All Programs" menu.
After rebooting, you can delete the install file on your desktop (if you saved it).

How to Uninstall:
Click on the "Start" button on your desktop
Select "Control Panel"
Select "Add or Remove Programs"
(Vista users select "Programs and Features")
Find "Garfield Desktop Comic" in the list and select "Remove"
(Vista users click "Uninstall")
Reboot your computer

What do I have to do to get the Garfield comic strip every day?
The Garfield Desktop Comic automatically displays the day's comic strip. Just leave it on your desktop and it'll update the comic every morning!

I installed the Desktop Comic but I don't see the comic strip.
Check your internet connection. Make sure you're connected. The Desktop Comic works best with a fast connection, like DSL or cable. Shrink the Desktop Comic down to your Task Bar, then re-open it (from the Task Bar). If that doesn't work, check your firewall settings. Some firewalls will block the information that the Desktop Comic needs.

How do I hide the Desktop Comic?
Click on the symbol in the upper right corner of the Desktop Comic. That will place it into your Task Bar as an icon. Click the icon in your Task Bar to open the Desktop Comic again.

How do I close the Desktop Comic completely?
Right-click anywhere on the Desktop Comic and select "Close Desktop Comic" from the pop-up menu. Or, right-click on the Desktop Comic icon in your Task Bar and select "Close". This will turn off the Desktop Comic. To turn it back on, Click the Start Button on your desktop and select "All Programs." You'll find "Garfield Desktop Comic" in there.

What if I turn my computer off at night?
The Garfield Desktop Comic will start automatically when you turn your computer back on.

What if I just have a dial-up internet connection?
The Desktop Comic will only work if you have an active internet connection. If you installed the Desktop Comic and you have a dial-up connection, hide the Desktop Comic (click the button in the upper right corner), connect to the internet, then re-open the Desktop Comic by clicking the icon in your Task Bar. It should load the comic strip shortly.
